Maintenance of Fedsure/Capital
Alliance Insurance systems ·
Norwich was bought out by
Fedsure and a team of resources was needed to go to Cape Town, learn the ins
and outs of the Norwich system and to run and maintain it from Johannesburg
without any of the original team members. Jan was an integral part of this
team. ·
Fedsure was then sold to
Capital Alliance and the Fedsure and Norwich systems had to be converted to
Capital’s systems. ·
Duties as part of above team: ·
Responsible for after hours
batch processing (full time standby) ·
Analysing the system
documentation and setting up the documentation to assist the rest of the
project team. ·
Changing online and batch
programs to assist the users on problem areas. ·
Data fixes before conversion. ·
Workshops to set up the data
conversion to a Sun machine. ·
Responsibility for the batch
processes to convert the data across ·
Support on enquiries once the
data were converted ·
Extracting data from the
mainframe and setting up Excel spreadsheets for the client’s use. ·
Training on Sapiens(emerge). ·
